Austin Indian Community Associations
Austin is home to a few Indian community associations and groups.
Tamils, Marathis, Gujaratis, Malayalees, Bengalis and Telugus in Austin have all formed their own associations representing their culture and interests.
Besides language based associations, there are organizations representing the interests of students at University of Austin as well.

Austin Indian associations are active and often organize programs to celebrate prominent Indian events and festivals like Indian Independence Day, Republic Day and Ganesh Chaturthi, Dasara, Diwali, Sankranti, Ugadi, Baisakhi and Vishu that bond the community.
Most of these events include cultural programs like Bollywood music concerts, Bharanatyam, Bhangra dance programs and food counters serving Idly, Vada, Mysore Masala Dosa, Dokhla, Samosa, Dum Biryani etc.
